Dr. Marie Castoldi just completed an Orthopedic Surgery residency at the University Hospital of Nice, under the instruction of Pr Boileau and Pr Trojani. She is starting a fellowship in Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology between the Menton Hospital and University Hospital of Nice.

She worked with Pr Servien and her team in Lyon during a 6-month rotation in 2018, and in 2019 with Pr Chiron and Dr Cavaignac in Toulouse. She obtained a Master’s degree in Biomechanics and inter-university degrees in Arthroscopy and Knee surgery. Her focus is on hip and knee surgery, and improving the training of young residents. She participates in research on shoulder surgery for the biennial Nice Shoulder Course.

This is her first publication in the American Journal of Sports Medicine.

Dr. Elvire Servien is a full Professor in orthopaedic surgery, Chair of the orthopaedic department and sports medicine in Lyon Croix-Rousse Hospital, Chair at the Lyon University and Director of the FIFA medical Center of Excellence.

She is past president of the LYKS (Lyon School of Knee Surgery) and past Chair of the ESSKA Sports Committee. She is specialized in knee surgery. Her main interests are ACL surgery, patellofemoral surgeries and meniscus but also degenerative surgery (HTO, TKA, revision TKA).
